Anonymous has played a significant role in the production of CureDuchenne’s Getzlaf Golf Shootout weekend event since 2011.  This spectacular two-day charity fundraiser brings together professional athletes, celebrities and community leaders, all teaming up in support of CureDuchenne.  The MVP Reception at Sutra Lounge serves as the kick-off event for the weekend.  The following day, foursomes are paired up with professional athletes for the “Golf Shootout” tournament at Monarch Beach Golf Links in Dana Point.

CureDuchenne is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to raising awareness and funds for Duchenne - the most devastating and lethal muscular disease in children. There are over 24,000 boys living with the disease in the United States alone, and most will not survive their mid-20s.  The organization was founded in 2003 and today, world’s leading scientists are working with CureDuchenne to help determine the most viable research projects to accelerate the clinical trial process.

Ryan and Paige Getzlaf host the Getzlaf Golf Shootout and provide tremendous support to the foundation.  Ryan Getzlaf is a forward in the National Hockey League and team captain of the Anaheim Ducks. He was a gold medal winner in the 2010 Olympics for Team Canada, is an NHL All-Star, and won a Stanley Cup with the Ducks in 2007.  Off the Ice, Ryan spends a great deal of his time giving back to the community; he and his wife, Paige, take an active role in supporting organizations like CureDuchenne.
